The Ford Ranger XL for 1993: Improving on 1992

A high point in the standard cab pickup market is the Ford Ranger. In 1993 Ford rolled out an upgraded version of the Ranger with five versions: Sport, XL, XLT, STX, and Splash. Sales for the Ranger, especially the Ranger XL, were brisk during 1993 and 1994. The improved reliability and the updated styling were responsible for the increased interest.

The Ford Ranger XL for 2007

In 2007 Ford released the Ranger XL to the truck-buying market. The Ranger came in five configurations: FX4, Sport, STX, XL, and XLT. The XL configuration is powered by the 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine, which makes 21 - 23 highway miles and 17 - 18 city. The Ranger competes in the Extended Cab Pickup market segment, in direct competition with Kia.
