In 1991 Chevrolet released the V2500 Suburban Silverado to the truck-buying market. The V2500 Suburban came in two configurations: Silverado and Scottsdale. The Silverado configuration is powered by the 5.7-liter eight-cylinder engine, which makes 23 highway miles and 18 city. The V2500 Suburban competes in the Sport Utility market segment, in direct competition with Kia.
There have been several award-winning trucks from Chevrolet over the years, including the Chevrolet V2500 Suburban of 1991. There are two trim levels to the V2500 Suburban, including Silverado and Scottsdale. The Scottsdale version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 1990 the popular 5.7 liter Chevrolet has made this a popular choice for sport utility buyers nationwide.
The 2008 Trailblazer is an important vehicle to Chevrolet for the sport utility market segment. The LT is a member of a series of three trim levels for the Trailblazer which include Base, SS, and LT. The four-door truck with its four-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Chevrolet. There is strong competition from vehicles from Kia.
A high point in the sport utility market is the Chevrolet Trailblazer. In 2008 Chevrolet released an upgraded version of the Trailblazer with three versions: Base, SS, and LT. Sales for the Trailblazer, especially the Trailblazer SS, were brisk during 2008 and 2009. The improved reliability and the sporty styling were responsible for the sales boost.
