Our Review of the 2002 Chevrolet S10 Base

As time has gone by several things can be said about the Chevrolet S10 series: including the strong reaction most buyers have towards their truck. The 4-cylinder engine is at the core of the strong emotions, it is reliable for its class and delivers a huge amount of torque.

Chevrolet S10 Engine Specs

The restyled S10 Base is equipped with a General Motors 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine that utilizes a total of 8 valves. The Vortec engine is paired with a General Motors 4-speed transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Chevrolet.

Fuel is handled for the S10 is a SFI design, running on FLEX fuel. The FLEX is managed by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The 27.00-gallon tank provides the fuel storage for longer trips.
