Our Review of the 1992 Chevrolet K1500 WT
A high point in the standard cab pickup market is the Chevrolet K1500. In 1992 Chevrolet released an upgraded version of the K1500 with three versions: WT, Silverado, and Cheyenne. Sales for the K1500, especially the K1500 WT, were brisk during 1992 and 1993. The improved reliability and the sporty styling were responsible for the sales boost.
Chevrolet K1500 Engine Specs
Standard equipment in the K1500 for 1991 and 1992 includes the 6.2 liter engine by General Motors, weighing in at 8 cylinders and sixteen valves. A 5-speed Standard Transmission puts the power of the engine to the pavement. This is a long-standing favorite for buyers in the Standard Cab Pickup arena.
The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are drum. Steering is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The K1500 uses power-assisted brakes, with 2-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by torsion bar front springs and leaf in the rear.
The fuel system for the 1992 K1500 is a traditional IFI, running on DIESEL fuel. The fuel is controlled by an mechanical system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 20.00 gallons.

The 1992 model year was telling year for the Chevrolet K1500. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the WT version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
